Milhist[edit]

@WP:MILHIST coordinators: This article obviously appears to be part of the MILHIST wikiproject. Instead of adding tags and assessments that would later need revision, I'm using Template:@MILHIST to bring this to your attention. I think the NYT obituary I added to the article may well be useful. Hi Shirt58, what exactly do you want to happen here? Would you like someone to clean the article up? Cheers, Eddie891 Talk Work 13:59, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've tagged it as a first step, but that's all I'm going to do. It's up to you, Shirt58, to expand it as you know more about the subject than the rest of us.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 16:02, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've expanded the military part of his biography for you, and added a military infobox. (His son is rather more famous than he is in this regard.) Up to you to expand the part about his government service. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 22:06, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The improvements between the article when I came across it 09:56, 16 February 2021 (UTC) and its current version are remarkable and a credit to every editor involved.

Eddie891: "what exactly do you want to happen here? Would you like someone to clean the article up?" - that's correct, I wanted someone to clean up the article, and that is what has happened.
Sturmvogel 66: "I've tagged it as a first step, but that's all I'm going to do. It's up to you, Shirt58, to expand it as you know more about the subject than the rest of us" - thank you for the compliment, but until 09:56, 16 February 2021 (UTC) pretty much the only things I knew about Eisenhower was that was a military hero, a POTUS, and all-round good person. "know more about the subject than the rest of us"? - I'm a Jack of all trades, master of none
Hawkeye7: "I've expanded the military part of his biography for you, and added a military infobox. (His son is rather more famous than he is in this regard.) Up to you to expand the part about his government service" - thank you for adding the detailed infobox, that's exactly what I was asking for... "Up to you to expand the part about his government service" - again, I'm a Jack of all trades, master of none

@Indy beetle, Eddie891, Sturmvogel 66, Hawkeye7, and Hog Farm: Thank you again. Pete AU aka Shirt58 (talk) 11:11, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Great work all, particularly Hawkeye. I've reassessed as C class-- needs more detail on his later career (particularly service under Eisenhower) to meet B2. Cheers, Eddie891 Talk Work 19:41, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
