Picture[edit]

This distinguished officer had this nickname and painting follow him all his life. Do we have to use the painting as his official Wiki picture too? You just can't live some things down, it seems.

How about putting up his adult picture, with the Millais painting further down the article?69.181.249.69 (talk) 06:08, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We'd love to, but we need one that can be used without violating copyright. Paul B (talk) 13:35, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name of article[edit]

Why does this article have his birth year in the title? The MOS WP:PRECISE says that "titles should unambiguously define the topical scope of the article, but should be no more precise than that". Seems to me that "William James (Royal Navy officer)" meets that requirement. There's no other article about a Williams James who served in the RN.
