Iron Side nomenclature[edit]

Does a sailor serve on an ironside ship ship or in an ironside ship ship? The original author used in, one editor changed to on, ans now I can't decide which one rings more true. Kendrick7 04:11, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

Moses Dallas, pilot of the Confederate Navy and formerly in the US Navy as well, was enlisted by Webb for his fleet. Webb considered that he was the "best inland pilot on the coast," setting his pay at $100 per month. He wasn't among the pilots of the CSS Atlanta at its capture, those being instead James Fleetwood, William Austin and Thomas Hernandez

why is this in here? What's the significance? Please indicate significance of Moses Dallas and why it constitutes trivia? I'm sure there were other personnel Webb hired, so why is this important? plange 03:44, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
