Muslims vs Moslems (on this wikipedia page - in one quote)[edit]

An editor changed the spelling of "Moslems" to "Muslims" in a quote from President Kennedy, but I changed it back, to match the printed reference. http://hnn.us/articles/524.html is one link that shows that although today (in 2010) the preferred spelling is "Muslims," "Moslems" was the preferred spelling (even according to dictionaries) at the time of JFK's presidency. In any event, because this spelling appears on the wikipedia page as part of a direct printed quote -- and the newspaper article from which that quote is taken uses the spelling, "Moslems" -- I don't think it's appropriate to change a past direct quote to favor modern usage. One parallel would be to take a direct quote, printed in a paper, of a Priest who blessed in the name of "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost" -- when that was the normal blessing -- and change that quote (despite the way it appears in a footnoted resource) to match today's more normal phrase: "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." I hope others agree with this explanation, and agree that "Moslems" should be the spelling retained in this article -- in the quote lifted directly from the footnoted resource. Hope this makes sense! Arnold Schwarzenegger's participation in Hanukkah celebrations[edit]

I deleted a sentence which claimed that in 2009, "California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took part in a menorah lighting ceremony in the U.S. Capitol." I found no record of this. The source that was given (http://newsblaze.com/story/20091212111718zzzz.nb/topstory.html) provides an account of the annual Hanukkah celebration at the California State Capitol, not the U.S. Capitol. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josefhoracek (talk • contribs) 20:20, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

blue and white Hanukism[edit]

My brother told me he met an American girl who decorated her place for Hanukkah. She used mainly Blue and White, claiming "These are the colors of Hanukkah.". So I thought about it . Hanukkah comes at the time of T H E Holidays Time of America and Western Christian World. This is why Hanukkah crowned as T H E Jewish Holiday. So, this is why American Hanukkah is like an Israeli Party. In Israel, Blue and White are the colors of the Independence Day. The Colors of Hanukkah are colors of candles' lights and Vitrail.
