Citation[edit]

The author of this taxon is Edgar Leopold Layard (not Bonaparte). There are many reputable references for this, e.g. see Zoonomen: Sturnidae

The confusion has probably arisen because the author of Sturnus senex was Bonaparte. --RobHickling (talk) 21:57, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Modern taxonomists now regard this species as belonging to the mono-specific genus Sturnornis --RobHickling (talk) 22:06, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
