Hello everybody As the author of West Point (1847), Ild like to thank you for your help to improve this article. As my mother tongue is swissgerman, I had a couple of problems in writing/translating this article that I originally wrote in german. I allready asked a user to edit my article, so you can wait until he made the general corrections. Anyway... again thanks for your help! --Rectilinium (talk) 23:26, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

De-orphaning this article[edit]

As I am a new wikipedian I wasnt aware of the orphan-article-problem. But now that I know about it, Ill try to do my best to de-orphan it, even if it will be quiet difficult, as relating articles are still missing in Wikipedia. I will be obliged to write articles, that I can link with the West Point. I'll report any new links here. Added link from:

Some clean up done[edit]

I was asked to look the article over and I've done some clean up. There is too much biographical information in the article and that makes things go off topic. It could also use some copy editing for grammar and flow. It still makes a C-class rating however. --Brad (talk) 09:51, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Brad. Thanks for having made a basic clean up of the article. To be honest... I actually know that there is too much biographical info in the article :(. My problem was (or is) that I have not enough facts concerning the ships history (nothing about its construction, almost nothing about the time it was in service and no indications about its fate) and I actually searched for these informations for about a year. I still have contact with the Mystic Seaport Museum (where the Kermit Family Collection is held) but it is not sure, that they will be able to find anything more about the ship. I decided to upload the article the way it is (even if I knew that it was incomplete), and I was actually hoping, that someone can contribute the kind of informations I couldnt find myself. Of course I didn't stop making researches myself. I will contribute another section soon (about all the captains that ever had been commanders of the West Point). And it is my plan to cut the biographical section, when I finally have more informations about the ships history. However, thanks for your help! --Rectilinium (talk) 11:47, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
