Split[edit]

I don't believe in "AND" articles which are discouraged by Wikipedia policy. Suggest sanitation be broken off into a stub article. The Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works probably ought to be merged into this new article. Student7 (talk) 15:46, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A possible disadvantage to splitting the article (at least worth considering) is that the descriptions of Seawater flushing relate both to water supply and sewage treatment. Part of this is because the seawater flush supplies sulfur to the wastewater, which affects the sewage treatment process (e.g., sulfur compounds function as electron carriers, which minimize sludge production). While this could be a different subject and article (the SANI process), some of the considerations and infrastructure are linked both to water supply (seawater supply) and wastewater. Concerning the current political situation of Hong Kong[edit]

Should another section or sub-section be added to address how the current political situation between Hong Kong and China might affect the water supply since about 70-80% of water supply in Hong Kong comes from mainland China?
