The family's most well-known member is the diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, known for saving up to 100,000 Jews from the Holocaust.[edit]

Bronze Wolf[edit]

Which of these, if any, is the Dr. Marcus Wallenberg of Svenska Scoutrådet, who was awarded the Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting in 1982? Famous Counter-Strike player?[edit]

Does anyone know if the famous Swedish counter-strike-player Dennis Wallenberg (Walle in-game) is a member of this family. This article, and the Gustaf Wallenberg dab page, say 1863-1937.

However File:Slakttrad Wallenberg.jpg says 1863-1947.

Raoul Oscar Wallenberg, the father of Raoul Wallenberg, died in cancer 10 May 1912. 4 August 1912, Raoul Wallenberg was born. Raouls mother then married Fredrik von Dardel in 1918. Lidingo SWE (talk) 09:52, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are the Wallenbergs Jewish? Or were they originally (their ancestors) Jewish? I see the names "Jakob", "Marcus", "Marc" etc, plus they are bankers, so I wondered. The Economist says that the Wallenbergs are Lutheran: "André Oscar Wallenberg, son of a Lutheran bishop... founded Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB). Raoul Wallenberg's Niece was married to Kofi Annan[edit]

In 1984, Annan married Nane Lagergren, a Swedish lawyer at the UN and the niece of Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat who saved thousands of Jews in Nazi-occupied Hungary.
