Re SYPTE and stocksbridge: the reference is in a document they have published on the internet on develping local rail in South Yorkshire: I will try to find it to link. BaseTurnComplete 20:00, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Once you can finds the source it'll be all good. I have the document on my HD, but what the SYPTE want to do (wishes/survey/public enquiry) and what is feasable, financially possible (money available) is different. Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons 20:06, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The line is still in use for freight between Sheffield and Stocksbridge steel works. I haven't edited the article because I don't know which company is operating this service and I don't want to confuse things. At least one rambling association has described the line as disused - a dangerous state of affairs. As it is, living close to Wadsley Bridge I often hear furious hooting from the diesels at trespassers on the track, so I'm prepared to cut down the info boxes if necessary.--Mabzilla (talk) 21:43, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've now edited the article; Corus's transport department say they run a daily train leaving Rotherham at 6.30 p.m., and plan two trains on Sundays.--Mabzilla (talk) 11:57, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This article is about the railway station not the railway line. I believe that it is accurate to describe the railway station as disused. —Jeremy (talk) 16:21, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That is so, but the article as it stood had a box placing the station on a disused railway; the reference to the DVR restoring the line seemed to confirm this. I think one would want to know whether a disused station is on a working line or not, and I left the infobox about the station as it was. Can I again stress the point about safety. People exploring apparently disused lines could be put in danger.--Mabzilla (talk) 19:14, 11 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
