Major edit to give credit where credit is due[edit]

I was horrified to read what appeared an attempt to claim WUSC is what it is because of people who came into authority *after* the power boost of 1982. That power boost would never have happened if the people from 1977-1982 had not laid a solid foundation that would justify the cost of continuing broadcast after the FCC decided there were just too damned many 10 watt stations scattered on the NCE landscape.

WUSC had been submitting to CMJ many, many years before Art Boerk was program director. To indicate that it was these relative late-comers that put WUSC on the national map is not only offensive to those who supported the station when it was 10 watts, it is insulting and disrespectful to the people who were forging the relationships that those who came after would be able to enjoy as a given.

Also, it is extremely important to note that Frank Cain *assumed* Blast from the Past, he did not originate this show. For the life of me I can not remember who started "Blast from the Past" and produced that show for years before Frank was ever a dj, but it's likewise offensive to see the founder of "Blast from the Past" cast-off and ignored. Before Frank became a dj, he often referenced things he'd heard on the original "Blast from the Past." It may have first been called "Shakin' In The Sixties"; I know this was used as background music for one of the promos for the show that (later?) was "Blast from the Past." The way "Blast from the Past" was treated in this article when I found it, it would be like insinuating The Tonight Show was Jay Leno's idea, making no mention of Johnny Carson or Jack Parr.

Please try to keep the egos in check. Also, details about the club in Charlotte would be better in a separate wiki article. Did WUSC regularly include the Charlotte club in it's ticket give-aways? Did WUSC sponsor the GWAR show? Did WUSC give tickets away to the GWAR show? No? Then it serves little purpose explaining to the world what WUSC is, and therefore has little use in an article about the history of WUSC. If the owner of that club wants to tell people he is writing a book, he needs to create a separate wiki article about himself, then he can link his article to his name and not litter the WUSC article with non-WUSC information.
