Edit war regarding Harrisburg template[edit]

Please stop with the reverts and re-reverts. If this continues, you may be blocked for violating WP:3RR. I do not want to have to ask for this page to be protected. Thank you. Morgan Wick 06:35, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coolkatt is at it again. He continues to place the {{Susquehanna Valley TV}} template within WPHL-TV (along with his token, trivial mention of cable coverage in Harrisburg), thus starting what may be a vicious edit war. All this after he and I were asked nicely to chill out before we run afoul of the 3RR rule.
I agree with those who think out-of-market templates don't belong in television station articles, solely on the fact that the station probably doesn't mention these areas in their IDs. (When have you ever heard WPHL-TV ID itself as "Philadelphia-Harrisburg-Lancaster"? It has never happened.) Coolkatt will have you thinking that they do. I've already joined the complaint list at Requests for comment/CoolKatt number 99999, and I have reverted back to a previous version. Just a warning in advance. CK equated that a station being carried via cable or OTA siginal is being in the market, apparenlty we are less of an encyclopedia then we are the TV Guide, well if he gets his wish i am going to add of the Philadelphia stations to the NYC template and vias versa, due to the fact that the templates arre not based upon the markets but reception, and a fridn of mine who lived in Mercer County, NYC DMA, is able to get both the major Philly and NYC stations via cable, so based upon the logic being used i see no reason not to do that. Also plan to do the same for Baltimore and DC, as a Cousin that lives in Annapolis, Baltimore DMA, gets both Bmore and DC stations, OTA and via cable. Then lest see how they like it. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 07:13, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I refer you to WP:POINT if you're going to do that. Morgan Wick 01:01, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well then i guess you stnad for innaccurate templates then, and POINT has nothing to do with keeping the templates accurate, your setting the precident for it by allowing this tho happen, so mine as well make the templas accurate. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 08:40, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Once again CoolKatt brought back the Susqehanna TV template into the article. And, once again, I removed it. This has to stop. Rollosmokes 06:16, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Like we should be supprised. BTW the other revert was a mistke on my part, i had not be alerted that the artciles hade been since edited. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 08:40, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Rollosmokes, I have asked you several times in the past to stop reverting my edits. You need to actually stop doing it, as you are violating WP:STALK. Now stop removing factual info or don't come here at all.

And Boothy443, you need to cool it with this stuff too. Saying stuff like "add all of these stations" is getting out of hand. So stop removing fact or don't come here at all. CoolKatt number 99999 08:52, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll stop when you stop with you innacurate edits, which you do to templtes, articles, and RFC's. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 09:05, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is a fact that Harrisburg gets WPHL (and, if I'm not mistaken, they even have an LPTV translator there), but the apparent policy on Wikipedia is to only include the template for the station's home market. The Harrisburg template should not be here. Kirjtc2 15:56, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
While it might be a fact that if you live in Harrisburg you might be able to get WPHL, that is not the case throughout the whole market, which is more then just Harrisburg. Yes at one time you could recive the station OTA in Harrisburgh on channel 65 via a repeater, W65AV, but a FCC search of the calls [1] show that no current station uses that call nor does any station in Harrisburg, where W65AV was licensed to, brodcast on 65 nor is their another station that seems to be a replacement station. As for cable, i ched the provider is the three cotrol cities of the market, Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York, and not all of the cable providers carred WPHL, which if this was the affilate for this market would basiclay be unherd of. The majority of the systems are controlled by comcast and all of the comsat systems carry WPHL, but Comcast in lancaster also carries WPIX out of NY which is also a WB affilate, the lone exception that i foud is Adelphia in York and Adams couties which does not carry WPHL but insted pulls its WB station from Washington, WDCW. Now granted this does not show all cable systems in the market, itdoes show that WPHL is not a must-carry nor does it quailify for must-carry for the market, nor is it local. Also if were are going to add one slective stations why not add of the other stations carried bt cable systems in the market, For example the systems in Lancaster, carry most of the major Philadelphia stations, as well as som from Baltimore, while the systems in York carry most of the major stations from Baltimore and some from Washington and Philadelphia, i mean what makes them any less important to be included as they are also carries by cable.

Why was that Sailor Moon thing removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.242.2.252 (talkcontribs)

Irrelevant and trivial information that was poorly written. BTW, get an account so you can be accountable for your vandalism. Rollosmokes 16:04, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:WPHL17.png[edit]

Image:WPHL17.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

No mention of PTEN affiliation[edit]

There is no mention of PHL 17 being affiliated with PTEN. -- hmich176 00:35, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
