Untitled[edit]

Why is it that the Lupo 3L, one of the most fuel-efficient cars ever made, was pulled off the market?

Because it didn´t sell due to its high price.

  • They should have put the engine into the Seat Arosa (virtually the same car). 83.70.41.164 15:26, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

there was more to the 3L than just the engine.. alloy wings, bonnet, doors among other things like stearing wheel so just sticking the engine in the seat arosa would not really make much differance unless you did the other upgrades thus making it cost more. it also had low resistance roling tyres good for fuel economy but not really the best at road holding as they are so hard

dimensions are missing

Not noteworthy enough for inclusion in the article, but the story goes that when the Lupo 3L was approaching launch time, big scary VW boss Ferdinand Piech heard that Renault were planning to introduce a Clio 3L at the upcoming Paris motor show. VW, he felt, should be first, or at least first equal, with such a vehicle so he whipped the engineers into meeting the deadline. Neither Piech nor the exhausted engineers were impressed when they discovered the "3L" Clio was the one with three litre V6 installed where the rear seats are to be found on lesser versions of Renault's supermini... Plug-in Hybrid[edit]

There seems to be no mention of the plug-in hybrid anywere on Imperias web site or the Green Propulsion site. Are there any references to back up the claims? --DrJunge (talk) 18:26, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
