YouTube as a reference

Hi,

Please note that YouTube is listed as "Generally unreliable" in the Reliable sources list here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#Yahoo_News

Quite a few of the references in the Vivek Ramaswamy 2024 presidential campaign article already have non-YouTube sources listed alongside them, so the inclusion of YouTube refs are unnecessary, in my view.

Thanks, David O. Johnson (talk) 04:11, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

I’m inclined to agree. The inclusion of these directly disimproves the article (which on an aside has been getting worse and worse but by bit recently) and we do not need them in many cases. ser! (chat to me - see my edits) 12:27, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

Woow. You are being way too hard on me Ser! That is not fair. And you too, David and SPECIFICO, know the Youtube citations that provide the instance in time directly are the best. How can text only links do that to highlight the quoted text location? And where is my Time Signature Stamp button? I don't do the talk page! ~~~~ Thanks Ser!

To add a signature to your talk page comments, copy and paste this to the end of your comment when you're publishing: ~~~~. As for being "too hard", I'm actually trying to be as gentle as I can here. ser! (chat to me - see my edits) 15:48, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
I suppose I should've been clearer. You copy only the four tildes, not the "nowiki" part. ser! (chat to me - see my edits) 16:15, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
Update: I've removed all of the YouTube sources where they were only being used to back up content that comes from YouTube interviews (including the same Tim Pool one 12 times or so), and removed statements entirely hinging on them. ser! (chat to me - see my edits) 20:31, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
