Kiss section[edit]

I don't know if I am the right person to be editing this article, and I am not in the mood for getting into an edit war like I did after I tried to make a small change to the Bruce Kulick article. But someone should redo the section about Vincent's time with Kiss (which is pretty all that makes him noteable in the first place.) It is rambling and uncited and overexplained and has POV issues. And, some of the facts seem questionable. The story line is pretty simple: Vinnie Cusano/Vincent filled in for Ace Freheley in the studio while recording a Kiss album where Freheley appears on the cover without playing a note, then Freheley quits, then Vincent become the "Ankh Warrior" for a while before the band decides to get rid of the makeup. Finally, Vincent gets fired from the band during the recording of the first "unmasked" album. (What I mean by "overexplained" is something which happens in a lot of rock band histories on Wikipedia: everything the band does is always explained with a very dramatic reason. And every coming and going is detailed minutely.) Timothy Horrigan (talk) 23:31, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vinnie Vincent was not an "Ankh Warrior", but an "Egyptian Wizard". If you look/read back at the old articles when he first wore the make-up he was called Vinnie "Wiz (short for Wizard)" Vincent for his musical proficiency as a lead guitarist. You will also notice that in the Creature of the night photo sessions on Vinnie's pants is a crescent (half moon) which is seen on many Stereo-type Wizard outfits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gerbear70 (talkcontribs) 15:57, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Does Vinnie Vincent have a website. Vermon CaTaffy 8 (talk) 20:46, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Guitar Section[edit]

The "Vinnie Vincent Model Guitar" section should probably be removed entirely from the page, because it contains no verifiable information. I cleaned up the bizarre grammar and removed most of the WP:NOR. It does appear that the guitar actually exists and was shown at NAMM 2011, but all I've found to support this are discussion forum threads. LesPaul75talk 16:49, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Apparently, this page is being vandalized. The non-encyclopedic content is back, added by an anonymous user, presumably a spammer/advertiser. LesPaul75talk 22:16, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Correction - The spammer/advertiser is apparently User:DAworDisDAword101 and not the anonymous user "62.198.89.12". DAworDisDAword101, if there's a reason you added the non-verifiable content back to the article, please explain. Otherwise it's vandalism. LesPaul75talk 22:30, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • DAworDisDAword101 continues to revert edits to the page without any explanation here, or elsewhere. I've put the "ownership" warning on his talk page, but he doesn't appear to read that page, either. I'll make the article change one last time, and no more, because anything further would constitute an edit war. LesPaul75talk 17:45, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why isnt there any information on the guitars and equipment he uses? Most articles about guitarists have a section on "equipment and guitars", why not this one? Portillo (talk) 02:15, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you could cite some articles so we could see the context? I reverted your addition, as stated in my edit summary, partly because it was unsourced (we always need a source) and partly because it had no context that indicated some noteworthiness to the article.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:55, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What I want added to the article is information on what guitars Vincent has used in his career. Heres some sources.1234 Portillo (talk) 08:46, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Putting aside the fact that you haven't addressed all the issues I raised, none of the four sources you cite is reliable.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:32, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You obviously have no desire to improve this article. Portillo (talk) 03:39, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Battery[edit]

Shouldn't there be a section on his recent arrest for domestic violence? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.161.191.142 (talk) 20:45, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

At this point it is just a news story. This is an encyclopedia article. If he is convicted then a short blurb might be appropriate. GB fan (talk) 01:07, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Dozens of news sources continue to report on this. The claim for notability and encyclopedic value is compelling, in my opinion.—Biosketch (talk) 03:12, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Since it is persisting a short neutral well referenced blurb might be appropriate. GB fan (talk) 11:00, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Even if we're not going to wait until he's convicted, can't we at least wait until he's indicted? The number of sources that report it shouldn't really matter as to whether it warrants inclusion. These kinds of things tend to get repeated by many sources, but what newspapers deem newsworthy doesn't necessarily transform the story into something appropriate for an encyclopedia.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:30, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced material[edit]

The article has been tagged as lacking in sources since March 2011. There are some citation needed templates that are later, but the general warning is now almost three months old. The article is very messy and full of unsourced material. At some point soon, I intend to start removing the unsourced data.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:58, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do, I stumbled across this article and there are entire passages that seem like tabloid journalism tinged with personal diary entries. It's a mess. Batvette (talk) 17:51, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reminder.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:53, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

recent androgynous appearance in the news[edit]

Face it, this has been a major point of discussion ever since the Expo. While he looked silly during the Invasion years, this is something very different. Wearing women's shoes and a woman's pink/purple pants suit to the Expo got a lot of attention, and the article should note it. 104.169.16.173 (talk) 00:59, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Active?[edit]

Is Vinnie Vincent to be considered active as of 2018? Disembodied Soul (talk) 03:43, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he's active but not musically, yet. He's accepting more bookings as he's set to appear in Days of the Dead in May. — Preceding unsigned comment added by THEKEVINBRAND (talkcontribs) 06:10, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
What you are saying basically comes down to - no one is ever inactive until the day they die, because someone is always willing to do an interview or pose for a picture with a fan? Publicnetworkaccount (talk) 11:28, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
