Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that this page should be merged with fourth outfielder under the name Utility player (baseball). The two pages are both stub articles with little likelihood of expansion. A merger was proposed in 2007 for the Utility player page which does indeed have a good deal of information that is akin to the information on these two separate pages. As an intermediate step, perhaps if the pages were merged, additional content could be added to justify having a separate page for baseball utility players. I do feel a separate page for baseball is warranted. Right now, having two stub articles that largely replicate information on another page is untenable. Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Moreover, there are utility players who function as both utility infielders and fourth outfielders, like Brock Holt and Ben Zobrist, that should be discussed on one such page.
