Inclusion of USN&WR medical school rankings in lede[edit]

An unregistered editor is insisting that the lede of this article include this sentence: "As per U.S. News & World Report, UK Graduate School of Pharmacy is ranked 6th in the nation whereas Cancer Center as 44th and Graduate School/College of Medicine as 64th (tie) in 2023."

Setting aside that it's awkwardly written ("as per...") and omits critical information (the year of the rankings), it's simply unnecessarily detailed. This article is about the entire university, not just these parts of the university or the university's academic reputation. We have to be very selective about what we include in the lede and this material simply doesn't make the cut. ElKevbo (talk) 22:49, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree this detail should be mentioned somewhere, but it's too specific for the lead. The IP editor should let us know what their justification is. Stefen Towers among the rest! GabGruntwerk 01:49, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The editor Mike 4022 came back to re-add this material but in a more appropriate spot this time. I couldn't verify the Cancer Center data at the same or similar link, but I'm not sure we should show hospital rankings in this article anyway. Stefen Towers among the rest! Request for a minor update[edit]

Dear Editor,

For the sake of improvement of wikipedia page of UK, we were wondering, do you think it would be okay to add the following information:

https://uknow.uky.edu/research/uk-among-top-100-worldwide-universities-granted-us-patents-2023

Thanks for your help and consideration.

Sincerely,
