(Mystical union)[edit]

What happened to the concept of mystical union? The page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muraqaba links here via the word union.

The link in Muraqaba#Fana fillah was added 21:50, 28 October 2005 by User:Goethean (in what was then Muraqaba#Fana fillah (Extinction of the self in God)), and since a single author cannot make WP complete, there is no reason to criticize them, either for linking to the accompanying Dab (or any Dab), or for being unaware that there was no article linked from the Dab page that could have replaced the Dab link. IMO "Repairing link to disambiguation page" is not an ideal edit summary for the conversion of the lk to plain text, but it the edit itself was a good call on the part of anyone whose only try was my first one, Union (mystical); unfortunately, no one with a greater interest than i happened to make into a Rdr before now. Yet more unfortunately, the closest i found to what the accompanying article at mystical union are hypostatic union amd mysticism. IMO, the intent of the word "union" in it is best served by a red link to Metaphysical union, which solicits the creation of a more specific article. Another possibility is that someone will write mystical union (Sufism), and add it to the Dab mystical union.

While its placement there may not be inaccurate, it does seem a bit silly and out of touch. Surely it's what's meant by enough clicks to this page to warrant dropping that link into the LEAD> MrZaius^talk 10:51, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one has objected to your suggestion in over five years, I've been BOLD and moved the Trade union entry, as well as the other entries on the page for types of union that warrant specific definition in Wiktionary (i.e.: union (set theory), union (plumbing) and marriage), to the top (after the lede and before the sections) in the same order as they are on Wiktionary (i.e.: by level of usage), based on the idea that since they can be called "union" without clarification in everyday usage (hence lexicographic inclusion), they are what people are most likely to be searching for in an encyclopedia.

Education[edit]

I was thinking there was a West-coast "Union something" seminary; there is, but it is called Graduate Theological Union, and i think it is far more clearly outside the scope of the Dab page than are some other doubtful ones in the education section.
