Scope of this article?[edit]

Hi, it's unclear to me which is exactly the scope for this article, as part of its content is redundant with the one in "General-purpose bomb". Can anyone please clarify?

WRONG definition![edit]

Hi All, IMHO the current summary paragraph's (if there is such) definition, which reads:

A gravity bomb is an aircraft-delivered bomb that does not contain a guidance system and hence, simply follows a ballistic trajectory.

is incorrect, as "gravity" (ie: what makes the bomb move) has nothing to do with "guidance system" (ie: what makes the bomb hit its target by making corrections to its trajectory). Where was this "definition" taken from??

Nomenclature[edit]

As can be verified by the following links, the U.S. military uses the terms "unguided bombs" or "free-fall bombs", not 'gravity bombs'. So the title of the article should be changed.

Retarded Bomb[edit]

Iron bomb?[edit]

Link to intellectual disability[edit]

It seems inappropriate to have the section on retarded bombs link to intellectual disability, since the word retarded is being used in a totally different context here. It also seems a little offensive. I'll remove it if nobody has any arguments for why it should be kept?
