Does this really need it's own page? Pretty much every away team used to grumble about umpiring decisions before neutral umpires. This article makes the tour look like a stitch up job framed around one or two dubious but debatable decisions. In any case surely it can be folded into the main article on the series? Adding this to the main articled would make it too long. Philip Jelley (talk) 07:27, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Only if you added all the detail from here which to me seems overkill and I'm sure could be edited down once the analysis is whittled down a bit. If you analysed any series there'd be enough contentious calls to fill an article. As it is there really only appears to be a single incident (the Bradman "bump ball/dismissal) that is of particular note. Really either we do this for every series or none surely? There are other articles; Umpiring in the 1958-59 Ashes series, Umpiring in the 1970-71 Ashes series and Umpiring in the 1974-75 Ashes series. In 1954-55, 1962-63 and 1965-66 there were no disputes of note, but you may research and write articles on them if you desire. The point here is to gather the information on the disputes into one article in greater detail rather than have it scattered across a larger non-specific article. I'm just discussing the article. My personal thought is that none of the articles (which I notice you are the initial author) really are of enough significance to be separate articles. I believe they are better discussed in connection with the game itself. It's just an opinion. I'm happy to make the same opinion on all those other articles. Either it's done for all series (including those in England) or none. Given the crux of the 74/75 article is short-pitched bowling, bad light and crowd behaviour it seems pretty flimsy to me. Again just an opinion. I'd be interested in hearing from others on the subject though. Tigerman2005 (talk) 05:04, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There are articles for each Australian player's fielding on the 1948 Ashes Tour, and how they played in the test series, but this doesn't have to be done for every series (unless you have a lot of time on your hands). Philip Jelley (talk) 08:56, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
