Edit request[edit]

Dear contributor, I need to image for Ultimaker. Thank you. Best regards, HackerTon (talk) 18:57, 30 December 2013 (UTC)  Done - Anonimski (talk) 15:03, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cura[edit]

Cura redirects here. And there is no information about it here. It is used by 3d printers in addition to these ultimaker ones. Is it notable enough to have it's own Wikipedia entry ? Lathamibird (talk) 14:10, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am starting to think that Cura should be moved to the product section. I've been looking at the MakerBot page as a template of a sort for this page and I notice that software is listed as a product. Thoughts anyone? Not Wilkins (talk) 20:53, 21 March 2018 (UTC)NotWilkins[reply]

Opposition to Proposed deletion[edit]

Many other 3D printing companies have informative and well-written pages, and whilst this article is not up to quality standards, the notability is there. It needs a good rewrite, with sources; unfortunately this is not my area of expertise, so I will leave it for someone with better writing skills. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GregNGM (talkcontribs) 16:18, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cura information[edit]

I tried to flesh out the Cura section since there is thought that maybe it should not have its own page. In the least, there should be a mention that 3D printing enthusiasts have expressed a preference in a survey as well as achieving one million usersNot Wilkins (talk) 20:14, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

History of Company[edit]

according to 3D printing blogs and magazines, it looks like much has happened since the company launched. I made a new section under history for significant milestones by year. If anyone else knows of any, please plug them in.Not Wilkins (talk) 16:27, 5 March 2018 (UTC)NotWilkins[reply]

See Also[edit]

I revised the See Also section based on the MakerBot page. [1] The links are relevant for this printer manufacturer too. Should there be links to the different types of filaments the 3D printers currently use?Not Wilkins (talk) 15:29, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What About Patents?[edit]

The company appears to hold patents in the US and China. The patents cover nozzle mechanisms and bed leveling. I was going to put something about the nozzles in the product discussion but then thought that might sound too promotional. Would it be better to just list the patents? Here they are. [2] Not Wilkins (talk) 20:00, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Not Wilkins[reply]

Not usually useful because they are pretty much primary sources; also "patent authorities do not fact-check, edit or endorse any material in the patent application"; see WP:PATENTSBri (talk) 05:18, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the clarification Bri then patents are not a good idea - much more efficient to just ask upfront! Not Wilkins (talk) 14:36, 26 April 2018 (UTC)Not Wilkins[reply]

Yes, try to find something in RS that says the patents are important, if you want to. Make sure it's not repeating the company but truly independent. ☆ Bri (talk) 14:46, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New Pictures[edit]

The pictures on this page are a bit dated. I found some more recent pictures over at WikiCommons that better reflect the more current printers. Is there any objection to me changing to something a bit fresher? Not Wilkins (talk) 22:15, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Materials Alliance Program[edit]

Based on the number of alerts showing up, it appears that this material alliance program may be significant. I am not familiar enough with the topic to know if this topic deserves its own section. Maybe someone that better understands the ramifications can provide input? Not Wilkins (talk) 19:47, 28 November 2018 (UTC)NotWilkins[reply]

Mission?[edit]

I noticed that a "mission" section has been added that looks a little self-promotional. Is it appropriate? I am not one to engage in edit wars, so before I remove I thought I would ask the opinion of others who might be watching this page. Not Wilkins (talk) 18:09, 7 December 2018 (UTC)NotWilkins[reply]

Took out the Mission and red print core. Too promotionalNot Wilkins (talk) 15:24, 3 January 2019 (UTC)NotWilkins[reply]

Missing products[edit]

No mention of the UM 2+ Connect, Material Station, air manager or other products. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:A457:B109:1:6DE4:B323:F1AF:C91D (talk) 18:15, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of Ultimaker S7 or Material Station[edit]

This printer has been out for a while now, it should be added to the article. BlowtorchHonor (talk) 01:25, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
