Death toll during USS Cochino rescue[edit]

This USS Tusk (SS-426) article currently states ... another wave broke over her deck washing away the civilian and 11 Tusk crewmen. Only four sailors were subsequently rescued, implying a death toll of eight, but USS Cochino (SS-345) currently states Six sailors from Tusk were lost during the rescue, contradicting this. A 2005 episode of Deep Sea Detectives on the Military History Channel, viewed from 9:00 until 10:00 p.m. on August 11, 2013, gave the total death toll as seven men. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.75.5.239 (talk) 01:50, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps the Cochino officer who was being resuscitated was washed over board and lost but was counted as a Tusk sailor? Ealtram (talk) 14:43, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Steam[edit]
