Deserted[edit]

Many years ago when the Washington Navy Yard was more readily accessible, we visited the museum there and toured Barry. We didn't see another soul during the 30 to 60 minutes we were aboard - visitors, docents, anybody. With the current situation on the yard (unless you have a DoD ID, you're in for quite a wait to get security screened, etc.), she probably was even less visited. While we hate to see any museum ship scrapped, this one probably had to go - fortunately, a couple Forrest Shermans remain. Indeed, we visited Edson in Bay City just a few months ago and saw many people (visitors and docents) aboard her, even on a weekday morning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.91.48.16 (talk) 15:21, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
