Proposed move: Domestic rum[edit]

As this type of rum substitute is not specific to the Czech lands I propose to rename it to Domestic rum. --Jvs.cz (talk) 15:07, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose The whole point of the recent move to this title is that is no longer called rum at all. And which non-Czech versions do you speak of? This article is specifically about the Czech version, though it does make passing mention of other similar spirits. As it stands the only citations are for the Czech version. The proposed title, while more general, is no longer applicable, so wouldn't work. oknazevad (talk) 15:31, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hungarian examples removed[edit]

Belföldi rum is just a Hungarian translation that I created on Hungarian Wikipedia for the explanation of hu:Inländerrum (Google won't even find it prior to 2012). Hungarian domestic rums were always called and labeled simply as "rum" from their appearance in 1822 to Hungary's EU admission in 2004. Real rum was sometimes distinguished as "cukornádrum". Hajós ("Sailor") and similar names became common after 2004 as legal fancy names to help the identification of rum flavoured spirits for customers, since their brand/fancy names cannot inclue the word "rum" anymore, unless they have a protected designation of origin (like Austrian Inländerrum or Slovenian domači rum). Such a remote association as "Sailor" perfectly illustrates how there wasn't a single term for domestic rum in Hungarian. – Phoney (talk) 12:18, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stroh[edit]

I removed the comment "today produced from sugarcane molasses and therefore a genuine spiced rum" because citation needed. I bet the company would proudly mention it on their website https://www.stroh.at/ueber-stroh/ "Alles, was man über STROH wissen muss, auf einen Blick."
