Merge with silyl complexes?[edit]

Both this page and transition metal silyl complexes discuss silicon-centered ligands to (transition) metals. Technically, the concepts are distinct: silane complexes are a subset of silyl complexes. The former bear only hydrogen and organic substituents on the silicon (besides the metal, ofc), whereas the latter might bear substituents of all sorts.

But there's only one paragraph on this page right now, and it has received only 3 edits since creation. Silyl complexes has seen more, although that's (AFAICT) mainly an artifact of Smokefoot's editing pattern; neither has seen substantial revision since 2021. I think we would serve our readers better by keeping the articles together until there's much more content, and then forking. Right now, the similarly-named pages seem likely to only confuse.

@Bernanke's Crossbow:. Good idea. I'll put that on my to-do list. I've been distracted.--Smokefoot (talk) 14:30, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
