sankin kotai[edit]

What does it mean that Tosa Domain used this road to connect with the modern-day Shikokuchuo sankin kotai? Where exactly does this route begin and end? Was it that Tosa's daimyo and his entourage met up with and joined up with another daimyo and his entourage at the end of the Tosa Kaido, in order to travel together to Edo?
