Spelling[edit]

Is it Torrontés or Torrontes? Badagnani 06:59, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The spelling in Argentina is "Torrontés". Is the policy of Wikipedia to maintain the foreign spelling of foreign words, at least when they cannot be translated well? 76.230.154.134 (talk) 03:41, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Future split[edit]

Looking at the ampelography, it looks likely that mendocino will probably be split out at some point in the future - and who knows how the Galicia variety fits in to the picture? Given that Argentine Torrontés is what Wikipedians will find in their supermarket, I suggest that this article is kept for riojano and sanjuanino, with mendocino and Galicia being splintered off if necessary. For now I think it makes sense to keep things together until the molecular evidence gives more guidance. FlagSteward 00:36, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've never herd about those differences between Mendoza's and San Juan/Salta's Torrontes. Is there any source to the DNA study?? How different are they? I believe they are not distinguishable, but I might be wrong. --Mariano(t/c) 13:25, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
