Irrelevant statement?[edit]

The article currently ends with the following: "...own message to the Pope. This ecumenical shift, spearheaded by Bishop Palmer and Pope Francis, is chronicled in the latter portion of The Great Controversy (book) by Ellen G. White." This last sentence seems like inappropriate and irrelevant speculation added to the article to promote the mentioned book; it does not add any material to the biographical article. -This statement would probably fit better in the ecumenism page concerning the Seventh-Day Adventist's position this issue.

I suppose you could argue it's a bit arbitrary to single out Bishop Tony Palmer as relating to the ecumenical movement.

Not affiliated with the Anglican Communion[edit]

The article says "a South African Bishop with the Anglican Communion". This is incorrect.

As the articles says, he is a member of the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches. Anglicans Online list the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches under the statement "THE CHURCHES LISTED HERE are not 'in the communion'. That means that they are not part of the Anglican Communion." [1]

Further Catholic News says "Anthony Palmer, bishop and international ecumenical officer for the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches, a group that is not affiliated with the Anglican Communion." [2]

Lastly the article cites [3] for saying the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches is part of the Anglican Communion; however, if you read the article it makes clear that the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches is a break away group, and not part of the Anglican Communion "These consist of people who have, for a whole range of different reasons, broken away from their national church of Anglican Communion."
