Page move[edit]

If the distillery is called "Tomatin Distillery", the word "distillery" should be capitalized in the page title. If it is simply called "Tomatin", then the article should be entitled Tomatin "(whisky distillery)" -Freekee (talk) 19:39, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, refer to WP:NCCAPS, specifically the following section: Do not capitalize the second or subsequent words in an article title, unless the title is a proper noun. For multiword page titles, one should leave the second and subsequent words in lowercase unless the title phrase is a proper noun that would always occur capitalized, even in the middle of a sentence. My reply this morning may have come across as quite abrupt, I was in a rush and was trying to reply with a basic outline of my thoughts so something was up. Apologies for that. The reason I moved various distillery articles to the format X distillery was that they were all named differently with no consistancy. X distillery, I think, is the best way of doing it. When people refer to a whisky they say "Tomatin" when they refer to the distillery they say "Tomatin distillery" to differentiate it although 'distillery' isn't a proper noun. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this. I posted on WP:SPIRITS but no one else offered a comment so I went on my myself - Cabe 6403 ^{(Talk•Sign)} 13:54, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cabe. Thanks for taking an interest in these Scotch articles. They've been in kindof a sorry state. I don't spend as much time here at WP as I used to, so I haven't had the time to put any effort into them myself. Anyway, I think the project page would be a good place to have a discussion, so I replied there.
