Meguerditch Tokatliyan instead of Mıgırdiç Tokatlıyan[edit]

It's illogical to use modern Turkish spelling for an Armenian that fled Republican Turkey to live in France, and who never lived in an Istanbul where such a spelling of his name would be used.

Most French or English language variations of his name would spell it as Meguerditch Tokatliyan, which is more fitting for this page because: a) English-language speakers can know how to pronounce his name when it's spelled as Meguerditch Tokatliyan b) He wasn't even Turkish, so using Turkish spelling in an English article doesn't make sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.11.145.24 (talk) 00:55, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, could you also provide a source for the name? I've looked for one after you explanation but I didn't find a satisfying one. Only blogspot or so. But I won't revert you anymore.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 01:03, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your cooperation. I found one source using this spelling: http://www.levantineheritage.com/therap.htm

It's towards the end of the page, where it says "An exaggerated artist view of the famous Armenian owned Meguerditch Tokatliyan hotel.."

Alamy stock photos also uses this spelling: https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-hotel-meguerditch-tokatlian-in-pera-another-property-owned-by-this-105339956.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.11.145.24 (talk) 03:14, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, and sorry for the late response! I just made a recent edit to add in the neW English/French spelling of the name throughout the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.11.145.24 (talk) 22:54, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
