Regarding his presumed death[edit]

Hi user 63.226.105.150, regarding the dead of Tingye Li. You are probably close to this person, so first of all my condolences. But we need references before we can declare somebody dead on Wikipedia. So I have currently reverted your edits. I presume that soon an obituary will be published on him to make this official. At that moment his article can be updated with this as reference. I also left this message on your talk page. If you have any further questions, you can post here, on your talk page or on my talk page and I will help you as best as possible, Thanks SchreyP (messages) 12:13, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

First reference is available for his death. I have updated the article accordingly. SchreyP (messages) 19:34, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tingye's service to the Chinese Government[edit]

While working on Tingye's obituary, I referred to his wiki page and noticed that the following information “He became one of the first batch of specially hired experts of the Chinese State Council, participating in major state science and technology decision-making" on this page was not correct. Tingye never took any official positions from the Chinese government. His influence to Chinese decision makers was indirectly through the talks he gave at academic conferences and institutes in China. Cedriclam (talk) 16:32, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cedriclam, thanks for this comment. The section Chinese heritage is not using references, so correctness can be questioned. If you know references that correctly describe his Chinese roots and personal influence, let us know. Than we can use them to reflect the details correctly. In a few days you are allowed to make those updates yourself, if you wish and we can help you if needed.
This article is lacking also in other places the proper references, and I will soon tag the article for this. Not referenced parts could be removed if reliable sources are not found in reasonable time. Also here Cedriclam, if you have knowledge of proper sources let us know. Thanks, SchreyP (messages) 17:42, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested change[edit]

Great article. I knew (and was helped by) Tingye. One correction though: I looked at the NIAAA web page, and the current director is Kenneth Warren, not Ting-Kai Li as stated. Warren replaced Li in 2008. (http://www.niaaa.nih.gov/about-niaaa/our-staff/directors-page). 69.142.239.15 (talk) 17:37, 4 January 2013 (UTC)johnlstrand@comcast.net[reply]

Hi 69.142.239.15, I have updated the article based on your suggestion and given reference, plus one extra reference stating when Ting-Kai Li started as director of NIAAA. Thanks for your comments, SchreyP (messages) 21:39, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Schrey, will try to fill in some references. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cedriclam (talkcontribs) 11:44, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
