World's first woman aircraft designer?[edit]

FYI see :Talk:Elsie_MacGill#World.27s_first_woman_aircraft_designer.3F. Ottawahitech (talk) 01:19, 6 December 2016 (UTC)please ping me[reply]

Ottawahitech there is no doubt that Todd created her plane in 1909. Lots of news about it, i.e. [1] Then Amelie Beese patented her flying "boat" in 1912 and built it in 1913. [2]. McGill may well have been the first woman employed as an engineer to do it, but she was clearly not the first designer. SusunW (talk) 01:36, 6 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rosamund Steenkamp was not the first woman to fly a jet.[edit]

The article says Rosamund Steenkamp was the first in 1945, but at least two other women preceded her.

German test pilot Hanna Reitsch flew a variety of rocket, turbojet, and pulsejet aircraft between 1942 and 1945. https://www.historynet.com/hanna-reitsch-hitlers-female-test-pilot.htm

American WASP test pilot Anna Baumgartner flew the YP-59A turbojet fighter in October of 1944. https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Portals/7/documents/education/teacher_resource_flying_for_freedom.pdf
