Suggestion for additional sections (toy example, critique, software, corpora, multilinguality)[edit]

I would like to suggest to extend the article to answer the following questions:

  • How would a short and simple example text look like if annotated with TimeML tags? I feel that the explanations for each tag separately are too short. After reading them I cannot imagine how a document annotated with TimeML tags would look like. (easiest way is maybe to cite examples from the TimeML annotation guidelines?)
  • In what way is TimeML subject of critique? Are there any example sentences/texts where tag categories seem to broad, incomplete or in some other way questionable? (published articles with critique?)
  • In what sense can TimeML be considered useful? Who is using TimeML and for what?
    • There are, for example, so called temporal taggers (see also the TempEval challenges at SemEval in 2007, 2010 and 2013). Maybe one can provide a link to an online demo version of a temporal tagger? (Maybe also say something about the performance of temporal taggers?)
    • Are there any other corpora annotated with TimeML tags than TimeBank? (Should they be mentioned? if yes, to which extent? Only link to papers or websites?)
  • Concerning multilinguality: To which languages has TimeML been applied? I think I read about adaptions for Italian (it TimeML, see https://sites.google.com/site/ittimeml/home ) and German (see Appendix to it TimeML Guidelines). Are there any other?

Answering some of the question can also help to weaken the issues (questionable notability, reliance on primary sources, not neutral, lack of citations/sources - see the banner at the beginning) PlusMinuscule (talk) 15:36, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
