Dear Moon announcement[edit]

A leak of the dearMoon Project crew (from a YouTube video that accidentally went public too early from the deerMoon team) just came out including Tim as part of the flight crew, and this article should be updated once an official press release has been made. A source from Eric Berger of Ars Technica reporting on the leaked video: https://twitter.com/SciGuySpace/status/1600950792189517842 Xboxtravis7992 (talk) 21:41, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation of Astro Awards[edit]

I acknowledge there are too many X refs @Osunpokeh. While ma,ing this section my primary concern was references. https://www.astroawards2024.com/ is the home page of astro awards with all the company spokespersons listed. To know if they exactly got the prize and was it special award or just a general astro award. You need to take pain of closely watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFTSGDkATO0 livestream. To relieve users from this i added all award announcements from everydayastronaut.com's https://twitter.com/AstroAwardsLive account. I don't have any choice of refs that give information mire reliably than this detailed refs. RIP B1058 (talk) 03:02, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tim Dodd's team hasnt provided us with a textual version of this livestream like his YouTube videos https://everydayastronaut.com/neutron-update-interview-with-peter-beck/ so can't help. RIP B1058 (talk) 03:05, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please refrain from engaging in edit warring (as per WP:BRR), such as unreverting a revert, instead discuss changes in the talk page prior to doing this. In any case, self-published posts on Twitter / X are (in the vast majority of cases) not reliable sources, if there is no reliable coverage of a topic then the safe option is to not include said topic at all. [osunpokeh/talk/contributions] 06:20, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Osunpokeh OK I consider your point and remove Twitter refs so will the other links work? (I know edit warring and I started this discussion to eliminate the situation of edit warring) RIP B1058 (talk) 09:45, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The references are:
1)https://www.news9live.com/science/isros-chandrayaan-3-mission-bags-top-prize-at-astro-awards-2024-2406113
2)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFTSGDkATO0
3)https://www.astroawards2024.com/
4)https://everydayastronaut.com/astro-awards-live-everything-you-need-to-know/
I have said and i will repeat again, i personally dont liked linking twitter refs but is the general public satisfied with finding winners from long livestream that is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFTSGDkATO0 as Tim didn't publish a textual version of the livestream as he does many a times.
If the above thing said is satisfactory, and refs are good, then twitter refs are of no use and i can publish this without them.@Osunpokeh RIP B1058 (talk) 09:55, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Osunpokeh should I proceed waiting for response from you or any other admin RIP B1058 (talk) 16:41, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All but one of those sources is self-published coverage. [osunpokeh/talk/contributions] 21:04, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Website for #1 in your list doesn't seem too legit either but that's just my opinion [osunpokeh/talk/contributions] 03:01, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So what should i do writing about say like nasa missions, we use nasa refs many a times then thats too self-published coverage, if everydayastronaut.com refs is self coverage of astro awards. RIP B1058 (talk) 03:30, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Osunpokeh actually nobody else is interested in its coverage and I say if this happens another year I will make a separate page and move this out of this page. RIP B1058 (talk) 03:48, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Some audience have covered the recaps of livestream are they a good source not being self published https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVH4N1xiWN0 and many more youtubers. After this no more coverage. RIP B1058 (talk) 03:52, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
YouTubers are self-published coverage. [osunpokeh/talk/contributions] 09:04, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But how any page i can read if YouTube is self published coverage. RIP B1058 (talk) 09:35, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I dont know such Wikipedia page telling YouTube self published coverage @Osunpokeh RIP B1058 (talk) 09:36, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WP:UGC is a good summary [osunpokeh/talk/contributions] 11:08, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok what can i co now since no one wrote about this matter? @Osunpokeh RIP B1058 (talk) 11:20, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is good thing to add but no onw wrote on it. RIP B1058 (talk) 11:21, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
also us there a tool or page on Wikipedia that checks authenticity and legitness of a source for use on Wikipedia. RIP B1058 (talk) 11:36, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I want to add it to Wikipedia RIP B1058 (talk) 11:38, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop adding unsourced and/or unreliably sourced / self-published content. When covering a promotional event, material published by the promotional event's organizers are hardly sufficient to justify its notability. Given that this is clearly a controversial change, you may want to ask other editors to comment on this matter. [osunpokeh/talk/contributions] 20:39, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
