who deleted all the stuff on this page and why? - unsigned comment by 212.23.20.172 (talk · contribs)

I did, because (as the edit summary says) it was all a copyvio from here. Tearlach 14:47, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese Character[edit]

I thought the Chinese symbol for 'Year of the Tiger' was 寅, as apposed to 虎, which just means 'Tiger'. I could be wrong though. Could somebody please verify which is correct. Sadako No Deshi 18:48, 18 July 2006 (BST)

I never knew Tigers have a special food (bread or poultry), that's quite interesting. R430nb2 05:18, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

England cricketer (& official captain) Michael Vaughan is a Wood Tiger (October 29 1974). Should I include his name as well amongst the Wood Tigers?

That character is incorrect. All of them currently (embarrasingly) are. Please revert it to 虎.Lesotho 02:26, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried to disambiguate between "the year of the Tiger" and "Tiger" the animal. tess (talk) 20:59, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

寅 and 虎[edit]

If someone wants to rewrite the first sentence to says "Year of the Tiger", then 寅 would be appropriate, but the first sentence is talking about the animal 虎. --tessc (talk) 22:42, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Split[edit]

I vote for making a new article, List of Celebrities Sign (chinese zodiac) - with a list of famous persons of all signs (separeted by sign/element), something like the List of games Daniel Leite 04:25, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one protested and I agree with you, I boldly went ahead and created the Category Category:List_of_Celebrities_(Chinese_Zodiac) and the subcategories for each sign. I'm currently adding the categories to the current Year of the Dog celebrities (I will remove the section afterwards, replacing it with a link).
Now, it would be great if you and all the other regulars (Maestro, VeronicaPR, IrishPearl etc.) would each take a Zodiac Sign and do the same, since it would take ages to do this alone. Teshik 12:31, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Split contested, candidate for deletion[edit]

Hrmpf. In the very minute I finally got the Dog article finished, the new categories were put up into the Deletion candidates. Go here for details, and please tell if you want the categories kept, deleted, or if you got another suggestion entirely. I've stopped editing for now. Teshik 14:52, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

remove list of people[edit]

Do not reply here; go to centralized discussion at Talk:Rat (zodiac)#Let's remove all the celebrities lists. coelacan — 18:14, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Country associations[edit]

I am VERY skeptical that the year of the Tiger is "traditionally associated" with El Salvador. Source please? JosiahHenderson (talk) 22:16, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Remove list of people, again[edit]

Please chime in at Talk:Rat_(zodiac)#Celebrity_lists,_again regarding removing the list of people from all Chinese zodiac articles. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 18:25, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
