Thriller 25 unmerged[edit]

The Thriller 25 merger was dissolved because it was agreed in a Peer review and FA review by a large majority that it was stopping the Thriller album from reaching FA. For more information on this please view the Thriller album talk page, the archived PR review and FA review.Realist2 (talk) 04:42, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA nomination[edit]

Im nominating this article for GA as i believe it meets the critera. Realist2 (talk) 04:34, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OMG! Its too early. --Efe (talk) 05:03, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NA, if Thriller passed GA with Thriller 25 there then Thriller 25 must be quit good. I said GA not FA lol. Realist2 (talk) 05:07, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Besides nothing wrong with sticking it on the list, its backlogged remember, it will take WEEKS to come round to us. Realist2 (talk) 05:11, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nah... I was referring to the early GANomination. For a non-MJ fan like me, I would really want to find a solid reason why Thriller was re-issued. I started a section called context and the production needs clean-up and more information about the collaboration of Jackson with contemporary artists. --Efe (talk) 05:25, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh sorry i thought you ment it was shit, rather than early. My feeling on that was, it will be on the nomination list for 2 weeks and we have a week when/if it goes on hold. That 3 weeks, we can easily do it. I might do a critical reaction section? Realist2 (talk) 05:29, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK i made a critical reaction section, its not sourced as its just from the reviews from the info box. Do i really need to add the sources to the text as well? Realist2 (talk) 07:26, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. Every quoted material should be properly sourced. And because its reviews, it should. --Efe (talk) 11:21, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK will get right to it. Realist2 (talk) 11:25, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK all sourced. Realist2 (talk) 11:50, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA review: on hold[edit]

I put it on hold for minor things, but things that stop this from being a GA. I think it can be finished within a day or so, it's not much at all.

1. Change first sentence. The reader should know that this is a "reissue", and that specific word should be used in the sentence. For example, the sentence could be:

Thriller 25' is a reissue of Michael Jackson's album Thriller. The reissued album celebrates the 25th anniversary of the original album's release.

 Done

I think that's good for the first sentence. Moving on...

  • In the lead, "Awarded" is not really the right word.
    •  Done
  • In "Context", you might want to get a quote from Jackson from his Access Hollywood interview.
    • I clarified that, the way it was written before wasn't accurate at all. Is their still a need for one considering the change i just made?
    • If you can get a quote, put it on my talk page and I'll see if it's good for the article. It's fine as it is, but I think the right quote COULD make it better.
    •  Done
  • "Promotion": The wording is somewhat confusing, I can help with that.
    • Have it a go, is it ok?
    •  Done
  • References shouldn't be in the middle of sentences, put them at the end.
    •  Done
  • The Content section should go before Promotion.
    •  Done

I'll help out with these things. Everything else seems fine. This shouldn't take long to be a GA. Cheers, Kodster (Willis) (Look what I can do) 23:43, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA passed[edit]

I did a final review, and it passes! It matches all the criteria

1. Well written. It follows MoS and every Wikipedia guideline. 2. Factually accurate and verifiable. References are good. 3. Broad in coverage. Good, covers all details. 4. Neutral. NPOV approved. 5. Stable. Good. 6. Illustrated. Appropriate pictures, good.

It passes. Great job everyone who contributed to this article! Cheers, Kodster (Willis) (Look what I can do) 19:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
