Notability[edit]

He passes WP:PROF as google scholar shows very high cite counts for his academic works. Atlantic306 (talk) 21:05, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas R. Lynch is a non-notable academic by Wikipedia's standards, and this article is promotional advertising. His book and research do not pass Wikipedia's standards for being significant contributions to the field of psychology. JSTOR has no records associated with his name. About 80% of this article's content is trivia, and the remaining 20% says that he developed RO DBT and wrote a couple of books. If we take away the trivial information and promotional language, there would be no article remaining.
For perspective on whether he is widely accepted in his field, compare his 113 library holdings to the 6,703 holdings of Marsha Linehan, the developer of dialectical behavior therapy. I disagree with Atlantic306; his cite counts on Google Scholar are not comparatively very high. Major contributors to the field of dialectical behavior therapy have cite counts in the 2,000 to 3,000 range. His most highly cited paper is cited 600 times, and we cannot know how many of these citations are by reliable independent sources, especially since his organization pays others to research his theories.
