Heraldic conflict[edit]

Are these his arms?

Records from the Ulster King of Arms's office [[1]] (page 128) have an entry for "Thomas O'Hagan, Esquire, one of Her Majesty's counsel learned in the law, and Assistant Barrister of the County of Dublin, son of the late Edward O'Hagan of Belfast, gentleman". That sounds a lot like the subject of this article, yet the arms described in that confirmation are entirely unlike those recorded for his descendants in Debrett's. Robin S.
