The fence is not on offer[edit]

I remember a regular section where Emma Kennedy would arrive on a horse/donkey and Richard or Lee would ask to buy things from her. Eventually the conversation would turn to the fence that was on set and Emma's character would reply "The fence is not on offer!", usually repeatedly, and certainly once resulted in Richard professing his undying love for her. I remember this section, had something to do with the king/queen of the show picking a gift. The picket fence was not on offer but usually asked for. Zelphi (talk) 12:07, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lazy boring comedy slags[edit]

Wasn't this a regular feature? They would attack comedians for using a done-to-death trick such as misdirection - e.g ending a sketch with "...and then he got off the bus."

Yes and no. It was part of the introductory patter they did, IIRC. There was a few though. "And then I got off the bus". "21 at the time I was"... and another one I can't remember! KingDaveRa 22:21, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Or a review in the press comparing a current stand-up comic to being like "Norman Wisdom on acid". And then having some footage of Wisdom on acid... Lugnuts (talk) 13:22, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Airing of the show[edit]

I'm very sure this show was aired late night (close to midnight) on the Saturday or Friday, then repeated on the Sunday. The original airing was not on the Sunday and the Sunday showing had minor editing.Zelphi (talk) 12:10, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In one of the first few shows of season one, I think they (Stewart, specifically) actually said that they air on Sunday and re-run on Friday night (rather than the way you describe). - anon

Yep, in the first few moments of the first episode. Stew has a rant at the camera to people watching it on a Friday night. Lugnuts (talk) 14:10, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TS[edit]

I'm pretty sure that the "Two very different teachers" segment was just called "The School" or as Rich once called it "TS". Tigerboy1966  22:01, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Did they really?[edit]

"These sketches tended to cause some controversy given the time of the show and the day of its broadcast." If so, then shouldn't we have a citation? DavidFarmbrough (talk) 23:08, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
