Hi! I'm really enjoying this article and am having trouble finding anything I can change! Are there any concerns you have that I can possibly help you with? Chalbeis (talk) 14:01, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article is super interesting. I've done my fair share of research on this subject and think maybe you should look into Isabelle_Caro, a fashion model who took a strong anti-anorexia stance a few years ago and later died of the disease that plagued her her whole life. Additionally, Israel just made a stand against ultra-thin models that could be a good bit of info to add to your modelling section. Keep up the great work! --66.64.148.142 (talk) 23:32, 2 October 2013 (UTC)== Title == If you're using "The Thin Ideal" as a "thing" you should cite where the concept comes from. This is a "thing" - a concept that came from somewhere and many others use. Explaining the conceptualization is fine, but the way you are using the term you should also explain where the term comes from. Debaser42 (talk) 15:37, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Evidence has been found that children as young as the age of seven begin to express body dissatisfaction. More information about how the thin ideal effects children could be added. This could include how the media targets children, how children view media not targeted at them, and their behavioral and emotional responses to thin ideal pressures. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harringk (talkcontribs) 19:41, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I found something wrong with the source of the first two sentences. It says: "Thin ideal is the concept of the ideally slim female body.[1] The common perception of this ideal is that of a slender, feminine physique with a small waist and little body fat.[1]" To me, none of the stated sentences is in this form or paraphased in the stated source. This needs an update with another definition or a fitting source. Have a good day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.41.159.165 (talk) 15:39, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Problems - cultural bias (atlantocentric), and probably best folded into Body image[edit]

Hey, my first thought reading this article was "it could do with a history section" (since Thin has not been an ideal forever, even in the places it is generally seen as an ideal). I ended up looking round for related articles, and I have the feeling Body image probably does a pretty good job of covering pretty much everything this article tries to. So I guess I'd suggest merging this one into that. I just thought I'd ask what people think before I splat a big template onto the page :P.
