Untitled[edit]

I was wondering, it says here that Iroh honers his son's death day, but in the episoide I thought he says it's his birthday. Anyone know which is true?

Birth. Always go with the show or other source unless you can find another article that says differently. And don't forget to sign your posts Madd the sane 00:43, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. But I don't have a name. Do I just make one? (I'm kinda new.....)

Yes, it helps people understand who saying what. Just click "Sign in / create account" at the top and follow the instructions. Type four tildes (~) to sign your discussions. -DavisLee 00:49, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Editing[edit]

If you see that a section has already been edited, please do not delete it to add in your own ideas. Simply add what has been omitted, and change what is incorrect, but do not delete two paragraphs so that you can put in your three sentences.

Screenshot (when we get around to adding one)[edit]

Won't it be kinda hard to put one screenshot as the main picture since the episode goes over many different plots? Unless I'm missing some sort of obvious candidate to put in there... Whydoit 01:58, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Eventually, when the article gets long enough, I will add images for most, if not everyones adventures in the city. As for the main image, I'm not too sure; I'm just as stuck as you are. -Redsparta 03:02, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest a composite, with a picture from each of the stories, or at least, a couple of them. FrozenPurpleCube 03:08, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Or maybe, just put up a screenshot of one of the "Tales Of *whoever*" as an example, but I don't really think this would go well as to put the episode's events into one picture. Whydoit (Strangle Me for My Mistakes) 03:21, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that, no matter where we put it, the dedication to Mako should be put somewhere on this page. I feel sappy to admit that that scene has made me quite teary-eyed. As for the picture for the main spot, I suggest the picture of Momo sleeping in Appa's (supposedly) footprint because it has more emphasis on past episodes and future episodes than most parts of this episode. I can tell you right now, though, that reformat on the creatures page will need to be done post-haste. I do have an idea, but it will be busy work and I don't know how it will look. Good thing I'm off tomorrow ^_^ H2P (Yell at me for what I've done) 08:17, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that We should put a shot of the memorial to Mako for the main screen, because he was part of Avatar, and he obvously means a lot to out a memorial for him. User person: Keyblade Mage

Ok, someone listend to me. Horray! User: Keyblade Mage

My only problem with putting that shot there is that only that story was dedicated to Mako. And even though the image is beautiful and the story itself so pure and good, the picture should represent the entire episode or relate to the show in general. H2P (Yell at me for what I've done) 02:47, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Writers[edit]

Does anyone have any idea how to make the writers list more compact? The way I put it now it's a bit long. Also, does anyone know the code to center text in an infox? I've tried everything but I can't seem to get it to work. >_< -Redsparta 08:31, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The main problem we'll run into is that the box is preset. H2P (Yell at me for what I've done) 09:49, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mud vs slurry[edit]

This is in regards to the notes section whether this episode is the first appearance of Toph's ability to bend mud. This is the sentence in question: "It is revealed Toph can bend mud (Although it is unknown if the liquid from the drill was mud as Sokka called it "Slurry")"

From Wikipedia:

Slurry is "a liquid mixture (especially involving water) composed of a mixture of various insoluble matter."

Mud is "a liquid or semi-liquid mixture of water and some combination of soil, silt, and clay."

So, I say that Toph's ability to bend mud has already been in establised in The Drill episode. -DavisLee 18:36, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that mud is different since Katara hasn't shown any ability to bend mud yet, while Toph and Katara could both bend the "slurry". Keyblade Mage 18:57, 30 September 2006 (UTC) Keyblade Mage[reply]

I think it is interesting how BOTH Katara and Toph have the ability to bend mud/slurry, as it as a combination, i think it could open several other possibilities into the bending part of the storyline, however, i agree that Toph's ability to bend mud (and/or slurry) was displayed in "The Drill" Purpender 18:52, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cloud[edit]

I really don't get why a second Appa cloud sighting warrants another note. Lots of stuff happens twice. Error411 00:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How often can a cloud be mistaken for a giant flying bison?! user: keyblade Mage

Not alot, but like I said lots of stuff happens twice and if this counts as something worth note then it would mean other stuff, such as Sokka's third time letting down his hair or fourth vision of Aang's underwear would classify as well. The notes section really isn't meant for such things. -Error411 01:05, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It would depend on what the subject is about. For example, Appa is always with the group, so why would they have the chance to mistake a cloud to be him? The examples you used of Aang and Soka however, are normal human things that can happen in any episoide. The clouds/Appa can only happen for a short time. Understand? User: Keyblade Mage

Such things are very obvious though. Notes should be for more interesting trivia that one perhaps never saw. If you very much believe this should be included then perhaps try elaborating. The current information is very obvious not much worth of note. Error411 01:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That would be your opinion. Keyblade Mage 01:23, 1 October 2006 (UTC) Keyblde mage[reply]

True, but I suggest elaboration. It dosen't seem very important in its current state. Error411 01:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why does it seem that way? Keyblade Mage 01:47, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Keyblade Mage[reply]

Like why it was viewed as Appa and not just a cloud. Error411 01:50, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm with Error on this. Does anyone really care that a cloud was mistaken for Appa? It's a tiny detail that doesn't mean anything. H2P (Yell at me for what I've done) 02:20, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So it is deleting for now until there's better reason for its appearence. Thanks for contribution though Keyblade. If you edit Avatar stuff a lot then join the WikiProject. Error411 02:31, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fine. But there are two are realy think we should put in there: Toph's hair not in her bun only in this episoide, and her ability to bend mud for the first time. 69.205.56.80 13:59, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Keyblade Mage[reply]

I still don't care that her hair was not in a bun. It's a miniscule detail with no real important meaning.

actually, the more I think about it, the more I don't care about that either. But the mud IS important. 69.205.56.80 19:48, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Keyblade Mage[reply]

This isn't the first time Toph's hair hasn't been in a bun. The previous episode had her hair done up with braids. Honestly, this is also the first time you see any of the characters shaving or prepping for the day, but IMO none of this is important enough to note. Also, the meaning behind the characters' names in the notes has nothing to do with this episode; they belong under the series page, if anywhere. Mongoose22 21:24, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Like I said, I don't care about the bun. And I didn't put the names in, either. 69.205.56.80 11:03, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Keyblade Mage[reply]

The Tale of Toph and Katara image[edit]

As it stands now, the image of Toph and Katara is actually in the section on Iroh's story. After some experimenting in my user sandbox, I've seen that, for whatever reason, all images are forced below the infobox, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Anyone who knows how to repair that, it would be appreciated.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 23:41, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what dimmensions you're using Fyre but it's in the correct position for me and not under the Infobox. H2P (Yell at me for what I've done) 03:16, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I tried fixing that myself. It's apparently a Firefox thing. Viewing the page in Internet Explorer shows the image in the correct location. Mongoose22 04:34, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have the same problem in Safari on some pages. It works fine for me in IE though. -Redsparta 04:03, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Seems the problem is indeed in Firefox…peculiar, but nothing to get overly worried about, then.--Fyre2387 (talkcontribs) 20:41, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
