Actors are not default notable[edit]

Actors are not default notable, so there is no reason to redlink listings.John Pack Lambert (talk) 15:56, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • The one redlink I removed that looks likely to be notable, that to Stephen Chase, actually has a still existant redlink. There is no reason for multiple links from the same page.John Pack Lambert (talk) 15:58, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Red links[edit]

Please see WP:REDLINK - not every actor on the list has been redlinked, these actors have been as per policy, which states, "... a red link should be allowed to remain in an article if it links to a term that could plausibly sustain an article, but for which there is no existing candidate article, or article section, under any name. Do not remove red links unless you are certain that Wikipedia should not have an article on the subject ..." These actors, based on their careers, are most likely candidates for their own articles. And as that policy's lead finishes: "Good red links help Wikipedia—they encourage new contributors in useful directions, and remind us that Wikipedia is far from finished." I agree, there is no reason to redlink to someone who has a single acting credit... or even a dozen if they are in minor roles, but when their body of work reaches a certain level, they meet notability requirements and a redlink is appropriate.
