GA[edit]

Ok, this article used to featured a long time ago. Now i dont think we will get it back to FA but we are gonna attempt GA in the next 3/4 weeks. So lets get started. Sourcing is a priority. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 18:33, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reunion rumors... (RESOLVED)[edit]

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:The_Jackson_5/Archive_2&action=edit&section=2# Though Jermaine has talked about the brothers reuniting, I doubt that this will come to fore wishing since Michael is working on his new album and it seems most of the Jackson brothers except Tito have retired unless Michael is open again to collaborate with them on an album. So I vote that we remove the "2008 reunion" paragraph from this article.

Jemaine was A member of the Jackson 5 before Randy soon took his place. The Jackson 5 were all brothers and had sisters heres one you might nowe Janet Jackson.

FUK THIS IM OUT BYE WHOEVER YOU AREhttps://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:The_Jackson_5/Archive_2&action=edit&section=2#.

Cut down (DONE)[edit]

We need to cut the article down, before we start sourcing, there is stuff that doesnt need to be there. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 22:14, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Way too much detail on the "American dream" film. It has an article of its own which isnt much bigger. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 22:22, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Early works and influences should go together, i dont understand by influences comes after. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 22:44, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So is all of this done? Cheers, Kodster (You talkin' to me?) (Stuff I messed up) 22:40, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, done. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 22:53, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Randy as a member of the Jackson Five[edit]

I believe there was a period when the Jackson 5 (under that name) officially had all six brothers as members. The name change came about because Motown owned the rights to that name, not specifically because Jermaine left. Timothy Horrigan (talk) 19:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Im not sure about that, if always heard that Randy replaced Jermaine. — Realist2 (Who's Bad?) 19:31, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah they had to change their name and Randy did replace Jermaine, lol. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 21:26, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are YouTube postings from 1975 or so of TV appearances where they are introduced as the "Jackson 5" or the "Jackson 5 Plus 1" with all six brothers in the band. The exact chronology is hard to pin down: but Jermaine's departure did come a few months after Randy became a full member of the band. Timothy Horrigan (talk) 21:58, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should I take the Jacksons out of the category as a "funk" group?[edit]

I have thought about this for a while and though I know there were elements in the Jackson 5's and Michael's music that was funk-esque, they didn't really struck me as a funk outfit. Maybe pop-funk but, I don't know... what you guys think? BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 02:30, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, besides it's a sub genre anyway. — Realist2 20:19, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

100 million records sold[edit]

Both sources are not very reliable, any the NYP has a systemic anti-Jackson bias. — R2 07:58, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Simply "Jackson 5"[edit]

I think a move would be in order here. If I'm not mistaken, the name "The Jackson 5" only appears in Diana Ross Presents and Get It Together, but simply "Jackson 5" is used in every other album. Since the latter form appears in many more records – and it is also the "official" form [1], it must prevail over the less common form. --Stormwatch (talk) 04:21, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Jackson[edit]

Michael Jackson should be tagged as deceased due to his death

As a matter of style, we don't do this for anyone. Thanks. Rodhullandemu 09:58, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Was Michael Jackson indirectly killed by the financers?

Michael Jackson lived his whole life surrounded by Jews. They would set him up in compromising positions, knowing his penchant for pre-pubescent boys and girls, have a series of families of "victims" sue him, then portray him in the controlled media as a serial pedophile thus denying him any credible defense. Of course, the international jew, even with all the negative publicity, could find families willing to keep sending the children over, force him to settle the lawsuits, and then lend him the money to pay them off, at interest, all on the security of his once considerable earning power.

This process of stealing his money went on for years, until there was nothing left to steal. "The eterntal jew" then came up with the idea of having the frail Jackson pay off the 500 million dollars he owed them all at once with a huge concert tour, one that neither they nor Jackson thought he could physically survive. If he didn't do it, they would seize the 350 million dollars in assets that he still controlled and ruin him. Essentially, they decided to go for the age-old Jewish solution, the pound of flesh. Jackson would pay them off with his life.

Due to his many health problems, it became impossible to insure Jackson for the tour, particularly when the kosher shysters got greedy and vastly extended the tour, so the promoters had to "self-insure", meaning they would take all the risk if Jackson, in fact, couldn't finish the tour. As the promoters knew he wouldn't be able to survive the tour, this was unacceptable, and Jackson became more valuable dead than alive. Alive, he would just create more debt to be shared amongst many creditors, with no more assets to pay them off. Dead before the tour, the banksters could divvy up his tangible assets and use his preexisting life insurance policy to cover the rest.

Jackson, having been exposed to Jews his entire life, was completely hip to what was going on, and who was stealing from him. "Jew me, Sue me" and "Kick me, Kike me."

Jackson had to apologize to Jewish groups a decade ago after he included lyrics like "Jew me/Sue me/Everybody do me/Kick me/Kike me" on the song "They Don't Care About Us". Jackson, who relocated to Bahrain (where Jews are not allowed residence) after he was acquitted of child molesting charges, never responded to the revelations of the leaked phone conversation.

I think we can assume that Jackson's increasing connections to the Muslim Middle East, and his possible conversion to Islam - after being forced to pick a surrogate Jewish mother for his children - was partly an attempt to escape the shysters. They settled for complete control of his estate after his death through his Jewish children.

The greed of the international jew extended the tour to the point where it was uninsurable. Either the stress of the impossible tour killed him, or they arranged for him to be given a "hot shot" - a mix of his drug of choice with a heart-attack inducing, and completely undetectable, potassium chloride - to finish him off (note how the mainstream press is suddenly filled with stories of his drug addictions.)

How long will you continue this constant abuse to occur? Like Michael said, it's up to us, they won't do it for you, I'll guarantee that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.212.10.167 (talk) 20:46, 22 August 2009 (UTC) [reply]

Chronology Issues in "Early Years"[edit]

I was looking around the internet and I cant seem to find any sources that match the chronology of the gruops initial formation to that found on this page. As the article indicates the Jackson Brothers begin to play in 1964 and Michael begins to perform with the group in 1965. However, both the motown website and allmusic indicate that "The Jackson Brothers" were playing in 1962[2] [3] and the rock and roll hall of fame has Michael playing with the group in 1964[4]. While the chronology presented on this page seems the most comprehensive on the net these other resources seem to contradict it. If someone could help clarify this discrepency I would be greatful Solidstatesurvivor (talk) 05:31, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recalling Simply "Jackson 5"[edit]

The paragraph above "Simply Jackson 5" is right, the group is named only Jackson 5. The wrong names have to be changed.--Dan8700 (talk) 17:45, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Micheal did get his hair Burnt in A very weird coka cola adveritisment about the sod He once married Elvises daughter who looked just like him. The Jackson 5 are second to only The Beatles for most commercially successful boy-band.23 They changed their name to THE JACKSONS whe they got older. The Jackson 5 were real poor when they were kids. Micheal Jackson married 3 people [all women]. He was a world noone star. His songs had no cursing in it like some other singers or writers songs. Micheal and Randy or Jemaine left the group.

The Jackson 5 "imitated" the Osmond's[edit]

That's preposterous and should not be there unless you can find a Jackson-based source that verifies it. No, a quote from an Osmond on his website does not qualify as a reliable source.
