7 top 10 singles?[edit]

Yes, you are right - it is misleading including minority listings such as American college radio statistics. I have removed the wording.

Other Welsh-language recordings[edit]

Can anybody provide information regarding a recording entitled "Tån"? Was this an official release? It contains a re-voiced recording of the song "The Road", so it must date sometime near the "Standards" album. MRuss 03:53, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's some info at: http://www.thealarm.com/lyricdisp.asp?id=256 It appears to be a Welsh-language version of "Raw". And much to my extreme surprise, this album is now for sale on iTunes.

"Alternative Rock"[edit]

February 2013[edit]

I've reverted the edits made by User:Alarmcalling. Some may be acceptable - for instance, updating the band line-up and factual corrections. But, most are promotional - for example, to the opening paragraph - and others are simply poorly written, and lose formatting and internal links. If the editor concerned is prepared to discuss their suggestions here (which they have failed to do so far), we can take it forward, but they need to engage in collaborative discussion and cease edit warring. The Alarm Wiki Update[edit]

I would like to propose an update of the Alarm wiki to take into account that the band now represents so much more than it's first ten years ^[1] I would like to suggest that the current three headings of Early years, Mid career and Later years be merged into one heading entitled The Early Years that would detail the band's first and original era of work. I would then further suggest that the opening Paragraph of the item entitled Post Brixton Academy become the beginnings of a much more detailed chapter entitled Mid Career taking into account the solo careers of singer Mike Peters and guitarist Dave Sharp with applicable information about the formation of The Alarm website www.thealarm.com and annual fan Gathering event (that is now 21 years old having begun in 1992) ^[2] , the works of original bass player Eddie Macdonald and drummer Nigel Twist that further documents the introduction of all the musicians who have appeared in the ongoing line-ups of the group commonally known (despite the Roman Numeral release date additions), asThe Alarm^[3] . I would then further propose that the third chapter 'Later Years' document the reformation and ongoing creative ark that began as The Alarm 2000, through the Bands Reunited VH1 episode ^[4] and continues to the present day ^[5] . Firstly, this is not "the Alarm wiki". This is a Wikipedia page about the band. It must be neutral and balanced, and it must rely on independent sources - that is, what reliable sources have written about the band - not what the band themselves want to have published about them, or what fans want to write, but what has already been published about the band by others not connected with them. The individual members' solo careers can be mentioned briefly, but not at length. Mike Peters' activities outside the band, for instance, should be covered in his own article, not this one. The post-reformation activities of the band should be mentioned in this article - but in a way that is neutral and balanced, not in any way promotional, and doesn't give undue weight to recent activities. And, everything added should be properly referenced from outside sources (not other Wikipedia articles). We don't want any WP:FANCRUFT - it will be removed.
