Should this stub article be merged into the main article Niki de Saint Phalle? As of now, the relevant section in that article is larger than this entire stub. The only reason not to merge would be if there is an imminent prospect of this article becoming long enough to warrant a separate stand-alone article; otherwise, this article should be merged, but could always be split off later if need be at that time. At this point, the relevant section in the article Niki de Saint Phalle is far more complete and well-referenced than the stub article here. In addition, having done extensive work on the main article, I think it is better to integrate the Tarot Garden story with the artists's ongoing life narrative, rather than keeping it separate. Proposed merge withdrawn, for reasons discussed here[edit]

I have withdrawn the merger proposal, at least for now. While the Tarot Garden section of the main article on Niki de Saint Phalle is now far larger than the article stub here, I think that there still is potential for this article to develop into a worthwhile separate one. I looked at the French Wikipedia counterpart on the Tarot Garden (fr:Jardin des Tarots), which is much more extensive, and contains information that could be translated and added to this English version of the article. Note that I am specifically disallowing spinning off the Tarot Garden subsection of the Saint Phalle article, because it covers many events in her life during the garden construction period which would not belong here. The artist's life story is too entangled and integrated to have her nearly 25-year Tarot Garden project removed from her main article.

Summary: The Tarot Garden article here should be expanded independently of the Tarot Garden subsection of the Niki de Saint Phalle article. Reify-tech (talk) 17:44, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
