Clarification on trophies and cups[edit]

The article currently states, "Yanga, founded in 1938, entered the first division of the league soon afterward and won four major cups in 1942." Could the original author have meant they won four major cups *by* 1942? It seems absurd to have four cups in a single year, but I am not a football fan.

The next sentence states, "Sunderland joined the first division soon after Yanga and won four important trophies in 1946." Please clarify what these trophies were. Again, could the original author have meant they won four important trophies *by* 1946?
