Tage Danielsson's political view[edit]

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am not sure that it is possible to say for sure that Danielsson was, or considered himself to be, a "left Social Democrat". Until a source is provided, I will go ahead and take that away. --Warfvinge 18:19, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not a "noted atheist"[edit]

To my knowledge, Tage Danielsson never spoke in public about religion. Since he had a non-religious funeral service it seems unlikely that he was a Christian believer, but he could well have been what people today call "spiritual but not religious". People speak more openly about religios faith in Sweden today, than in Danielsson's lifetime. Also, he never really spoke much about his personal life. He gave lots of interviews of course but family etc. was largely absent. I've never seen an interview where he showed "his inner self", just his professional persona. Words from his writings aren't proof either, since they are more or less satirical in nature.

He and others called himself "humanist". Today, if you want to call yourself a "humanist" and not what that to be mistaken as a statement of atheism, you have to clarify. But since the atheist organisation had another name then - the name changed to "Humanisterna" (Swedish Humanist Association) in 1999, long after Danielsson's death - that statement has nothing whatsoever to do with religion.

The burden of proof is upon those who wish to claim him as a "noted atheist". To me, it seems likely that he might have been an atheist - but we don't know. --2A00:801:211:290D:A083:F48B:9E12:D318 (talk) 10:19, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
