Species' name[edit]

IUCN (2010) and FishBase both list this species as Synodontis filamentosus. FishBase, in particular, lists S. filamentosa as a synonym and marks it as a "misspelling of the species' name that must not be used": Synonyms of Synodontis filamentosus Boulenger, 1901
