Pinehurst School & Headlands School - two different schools[edit]

Pinehurst School was never named Headlands School. Headland school is an entirely different school located about 1 mile away within the Stratton Area which has since been demolished. Pinehurst school did later become the 'Swindon Academy', and may have merge with Headlands at a later date, but these two locations were two different entities, and should be treated as such.

The information on this page has mixed up other information too that needs to be corrected. Probably would take some time, as its a bit of a mess. Propose creating a new page for Headlands school, and pulling information from this page in to that. (Source: I grow up in the area, and personally attended Pinehurst School from 1981 to 1983, headland school 1883 to 1886, My Mother attended Pinehurst School from 1958 to 1961)

By all means make improvements if you can find sources. Since Headlands no longer exists, a subsection of the Academy article may be enough. This 2009 Adver article has Headlands as a predecessor of the Academy – https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/4714061.swindon-school-to-close/
Dft has these addresses:
This 1950s map shows a school on the present Academy site and another on Cricklade Rd (part of the playing field is still there) – https://maps.nls.uk/view/197236907
