Article name[edit]

@Oxfordmale: regarding your recent move of this page, is "Swindon's Bus Company" the legal name of the undertaking? That is to say, is it simply a marketing name used by Go-Ahead, or has the company actually been registered in this name? If you live in or near Swindon, the easiest way of checking is to look at the nearside of the bus. Near the bottom of the panelling close to one of the wheel arches, there should be a name and address, this is usually in letters 50 mm high or smaller. Ignoring the address, what does the first line (or two lines) actually say? As an example, the undertaking which brands its buses "Oxford Bus Company" is legally The City of Oxford Motor Services Ltd. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:26, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Redrose64: - thank you for your comment - if you look at http://www.thamesdownbus.com/page.shtml?pagename=history&section=ABOUT%20US you will notice the following section: "In May 2017 eight new buses entered service in a new bright green, blue and red livery with Swindon's Bus Company branding. Then, current vehicles in the fleet started to be repainted into the new colours. In October a total of thirteen new low emission single deckers were introduced featuring wi-fi, USB charging and a 'social seating area' at the back of the buses.

On 19th November 2017 the Thamesdown fleet was merged into the main Go South Coast operator's licence. All local bus services now trade as Swindon's Bus Company."

Therefore the legal name is Go South Coast, but this would not be appropriate for a Wikipedia page, and as the company is now known as 'Swindon's Bus Company' the article should reflect that. Oxfordmale (talk) 19:55, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Redrose64: – lettering observed above rear nearside wheel of a service 1A vehicle confirms Go South Coast as the operator. This carried the new livery, with the main logo reading "Thamesdown ... swindon's Bus company". Wire723 (talk) 19:19, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
