Contestants spoilers?[edit]

I think that the contestants aren't officially revealed yet and what we have right now could be considered a spoiler. Should it be taken down? If it isn't official, what is listed could be inaccurate anyways.

@65.214.67.173 With the exception of the six castaways that were revealed on the Survivor: Game Changers reunion show, the cast hasn't been officially revealed yet. I already took it down the rest of the names myself. 74thClarkBarHG (talk) 20:25, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 8 Revote[edit]

Numerous edits have been made concerning the results of the episode 8 revote. The end of the episode showed the results of the original vote that ended in the 4-4-1-1 tie, but does not show the 2nd round of voting to break the tie. Jeff read six votes aloud - five for Desi and one for Joe, with the last two unread as they could not affect the result. There are many seasons of precedent for Jeff reading every vote cast for a contestant who does not have the majority of votes. (There is a possible exception from San Juan del Sur in the final-6 tie-breaking vote in which our only evidence against this precedent is a twitter reply from Missy indicated her vote was different.) So what information can we include about this revote if we are to include only verifiable factual information? Short of asking the contestants or the producers to verify the votes, I think we can only verifiably say the vote was at least 5-1 with 2 unknowns (though likely 7-1) and we can't indicate which vote was for Joe. Thoughts? Erdrick42 (talk) 04:39, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Erdrick42 In this instance, I would guess that the revote did turn out to be 7-1 and would be a safe assumption to make unless we later find out that one or both unrevealed votes were also for Joe (like how we learned of Missy's vote for Jaclyn from external sources).
The only point of contention I have would be who we list the lone confirmed Joe vote from. Before they removed the speculated votes, Survivor Wiki credited the vote as being from Ben, while Wikipedia has largely credited Chrissy with the vote on the basis of handwriting (though the most recent version as of the time of me writing this has it as Ben).
I would argue though that the Joe vote did not come from either Devon or Ben. Devon on the basis of handwriting (he wrote 'desi', with a very distinct small 'd'). Ben on the basis of spelling (he seemed to vote 'Desie' both times). The other 6 are up in the air, though I would agree that Chrissy seems like the most likely culprit, with very remote possibilities of either Ashley or Mike. Who knows? Maybe the next episode will clear everything up.SilentGanda (talk) 19:36, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The rules of Lauren’s extra vote[edit]

The rules of the extra vote read “this advantage allows you to secretly not vote at the next tribal council and instead save your vote for use at a future tribal council instead.” If she wished to obtain the extra vote, Lauren was required to not vote at the final 11 tribal council held on Day 21, not just at “a tribal council.”

Therefore, as it is written, the note explaining her non-vote—“As her advantage required her to abstain from voting during a Tribal Council in order to receive an additional vote at a future Tribal Council...”—is incorrect.

Ok, I see your point, I'll edit it now. VietPride10 (talk) 16:22, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Survivor: Ghost Island[edit]

It seems a couple of editors disagree with the title of next season. Yet plugging "Survivor Ghost Island" into a search engine reveals a few sources confirming the title of the next series: [1]. So why don't you agree with the title? 100.37.125.19 (talk) 08:17, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's not that we don't agree with the title, its the timing. We always wait until CBS officially announces the title at the finale in order to create a new wikipedia page for the new Survivor season.VietPride10 (talk) 16:53, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The reason that editors "disagree with the title of next season" is that it hasn't been announced by a reliable source yet. 74thClarkBarHG (talk) 09:13, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am a new one on the wikipedia world, but I agree with people who talked before me. Probably, next season will be "Survivor: Ghost Island", BUT it has to be official (possibly it will be announced in the finale like always).

Final Vote[edit]

How do you guys know that it was Mike that voted for Chrissy? 108.162.156.10 (talk) 22:59, 21 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Survivor jury vote table discussion[edit]

There is a proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television/Survivor task force#Jury vote tables to list the vote totals in the same order as the names in the finalist row immediately above the vote totals. All interested editors are invited to join that discussion. Since the Survivor task force appears to be inactive, I'm notifying Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television/Reality television task force and the talk pages for each Survivor season in order to reach interested editors.
